Talk on Women in Cybersecurity
Training and Placement Cell, Department of Computer Engineering, and Department of Science & Humanities of Don Bosco College of Engineering organized a virtual talk on Women in Cybersecurity on April 12, 2023, for the Undergraduate students of Computer Engineering.
The main purpose of the talk was to create awareness among students about Cybersecurity and the varied roles prevalent in industry today. The resource person Ms. Aparna Himmatramka, Senior Security Program Manager, Microsoft spoke about the top-level entry jobs in Cybersecurity. She also mentioned the desired skills for Cybersecurity jobs where technical ability, good written communication, and being responsible are rated at the top in the list.
The talk was focused on creating a journey that starts in First Year itself in finding the mentors, networking, joining groups, applying for scholarships, learning in classroom as well as beyond, building a strong LinkedIn profile, learning from failures, and contributing to the community at large.
The talk was organized by Dr Kala Nayak, HOD, Science & Humanities, Dr. Gaurang Patkar, HOD, Computer Engineering, and Avila Naik, Training and Placement Officer.
